Murasa and Ichirin (the Jack and Will of Touhou) are the Scene 5 bosses of the game Double Spoiler, the 12.5th installment of the Touhou Project and sequel to Shoot the Bullet. The Touhou Project is a danmaku shooter series where awesome things that no longer have relevance in the Crapsack World that is our world exist. Relevant to the case: pirates and nuns.

It is hard, VERY hard to speak about this two outside of their respective Lunatic video. I feel like I wouldn't make justice to their existence by soiling their persona with a half-assed attempt at describing them in such a short space. Is nearly criminal, may I dare to say. As such, I will restrain myself from speaking much of these two. As such, I leave one final word: There are MANY "interesting" pics of these two despite them being two relatively unrelated characters in Byakuren's crew. I guess Ichirin needed someone to be paired with and artists couldn't find someone, so they went with Murasa. Also, many artists out there are nun fetishist. Just saying.

About the music: This time around I opted for not one, but two arranges done by Liz Triangle, featuring lovely lily-an. I said in scene 2 that if I went always for the best vocal out there, I would end up chock full of Unlucky Morpheus and Liz Triangle in this playthrough. Well, I realized in this video that if I DIDN'T went for the best arrange, I would end up missing the chance to use many amazing arranges. Now, I want to make clear I neither speak Japanese nor am I an authority in the music department, so A) I'm only rating songs on their rhythm and B) this is solely my opinion. That said, unto the songs themselves.

The first song is an arrangement of the severely underrated Sky Ruin, stage 3 theme. Choosing the music for Ichirin's video will be a pain. I love Liz Triangle as a whole for making this arrange. Now, if they make a Last Remote arrange (trust me, by the end of this playthrough, you'll be sick of Last Remote) I will personally write them a letter practically saying how awesome they are. Commit this threat to memory. As for the second song, any hardcore Touhou fan has probably heard it. How can you miss the lovechild of Pirates of the Caribbean's and Touhou's soundtrack? Ay, this is a pretty jolly song, fit of CAPTAIN Murasa Minamitsu. I wanted to use as much as possible of these songs, sorry for the long waits =p

As for the video itself: Now we're talking ZUN. The game picks up at Scene 5, where we are reintroduced to two of the most iconic danmaku in the series: anchors and Brofists. Things also got more challenging, with danmaku generating anchors and Unzan just standing there, being plain awesome. I dare to say this is where the game starts requiring the skills STB was notorious for. Just look at that last scene. Seriously, this is probably one of my favorite scenes in the game. Is a blast to photograph your way through sea, anchors, nun, and clouds. Now things are getting interesting.

I've been playing through this, and I didn't die once until these scenes, and they're actually giving me trouble...

The 'Popeye's pipe looking thing' is a ladle used by the japanese to scoop waters. In legends, the ghosts of the type that Murasa is will swim up to people in a boat, looking perfectly normal and ask for a ladle. If one is given to the ghost, it promptly uses it to fill the boat with water, sinking it.

So really, Murasa throwing massive amounts of 'water' with just a ladle is normal according to the folklore.

No need for an imported ocean with the Sanzu around. Hmm...yeah, I can see it now.
Massive sea monster emerges from the infinite depths of the Sanzu river, begins causing havoc as dead spirits can no longer depart Gensokyo.  Komachi, Nitori, and...hell, why not, Wakasagihime as playable characters. Levels include traveling to the river, arriving and crossing, entering into hell, and progressing through it to the reach the court of the Yama. Discover that another Yama is trying to cut costs and balance the debt-wracked budget of Hell by cutting off Gensokyo entirely - kick her butt with righteous fury, and then it's back to the Hakurai Shrine in time for tea.
EXTRA has you deep under the depths of the Sanzu, personally ready to combat the (anthropomorphized, female, covered in ribbons and such) sea monster.

For Deep Sinker, I had a weird tactic where I would get Murasa to appear on one side of an anchor, then snag a picture while I'm on the other side of it.
Useful considering I always panicdeath with the mass of bullets. =.=

Raak1010, this is one of the rare times I feel your music choice was fumbled. In particular, Murasa's theme was unrecognizable. The original theme was much better, and I feel there are much better remixes than the one you chose.
