in July, i said to my doc statins cause brain fog. his response was "he is on them and he doesn't have brain fog" so it must not exist. we parted ways that visit.

My partner takes them and I know they are having an effect on him mentally. He has become forgetful and I worry for him. I have said to him he needs to come of them, I don't want his mental health to decline any further. I myself take no medication and will never start, I'm in my early 60s.

After a heart attack I was put on 80mg atorvastatin. I could not think properly and had very painful legs whilst walking. I stopped taking them and my health greatly improved

Also science, with that logic and rational thinking. I'm 66. I got a cholesterol result that was "borderline high". My doctor seemed like he couldn't wait to get me on a statin. He made absolutely no suggestions on how I might lower it in other ways. I declined the statin. I feel like he's mad at me now.

I was on 80mg a day which I gradually reduced to 20mg. I am waiting to inform my doctor and then stop taking them. They definitely had a negative effect on my memory.
