QC needs to be stepped up at Tesla. Elon has known about it for years and it still continues. Inspections need to be done when the cars leave the factory and again when they are received at the service center

I really think for the price of these cars Homelink should be standard. The arm rest tray should be included. Tesla’s margins are fantastic already. The will need to do better in the long run with these issues ….

I love my Y and I think Tesla has a lead on the competition with battery and software tech, but the manufacturing quality checks need to be stepped up in a big way. A lot of viable options are coming and at this price many consumers won’t and shouldn’t accept these issues. Why should you take time to go back and have things fixed that could have been resolved prior to delivery.

I personally hate the low Quality and cheap workmanship of all Tesla cars! these cars don’t meet the lowest standard of the competition!

Hi Andy. We took delivery of our Model 3 long range about six weeks ago. There were minor fit and finish issues similar to what you reported in this video. I brought it up to the Tesla staff and they said they could try to fix it but they might make it worse so we decided not to get them addressed. But the bigger issue was that the automatic trunk, when it closed, was hitting the rear bumper. In fact there is still a mark on the bumper where the metal was hitting the bumper. They took it into the service area and about 30 minutes later had it adjusted. But still, it left an uneasy feeling. After six weeks though, we do very much love the car. Just hope that problems don’t develop down the road.

What makes this annoying is that these problems are for basic things, things that auto makers have been designing for the past 100 years. I have a friend who just bought a model X plaid, cash, with all the bells and whistles. When we inspected the car at delivery, we noticed panels were misaligned, sticker residue in the lower part of the car, and condensation inside the rear stop lights. We told the person at Tesla of this and he tried gaslighting us by saying that they had just finished washing the car and that this is common with Teslas, that it was going to dry off in a few days. My friend was livid as the guy was trying to gaslight us. It’s a $130, 000 car that shouldn’t be having these problems.

Jesus, I still am a firm believer that if Elon stepped down as CEO, Tesla would be a better company. They are cutting so many corners on vehicles and continue to increase in price. I get things not being “perfect” but the motor noise, steering wheel, and paint are all HUGE misses by the company. You’re a great sport for not being more frustrated, because this is frankly unacceptable.

Good video. Tesla customers are way to accommodating with Tesla quality. We have given them ten years to get their act together. This is the quality of a $30, 000 car not a $60, 000 car.

4:40 just took our MY in for sentry USB errors. Was bad USB connector/wire in glove box, had to be replaced. they then didnt re-connect the LED, so check after that work is done.

Sorry to see you’re having some of these issues with your car. I have the same exact model Y made in late 2021 and have had none of the issues you mentioned. My bumper may be a different shade of white than the body but I really don’t notice it. I hope Tesla treats you right and fixes all of your issues.

I feel your pain. When I took delivery of my 2022 Y also car was filthy was not cleaned. It had a rear passenger side plastic panel was warped and sticking and not aligned to the bottom panel. Had a paint chip on the door seam front driver’s side. A small dent or scrape on the dash panel. I had a mobile tech come to fix the panel and the paint chip but had to get my brand new car cleaned which was what you expected from paying 60k for a new car. I was very disappointed with my delivery.

Took delivery of my MSM MYP a few days ago and it almost perfect, at least I didn’t have any of this problems you’ve mentioned. I’m pretty picky when it comes to quality of materials and assembly, I switched from Porsche. But so far so good, didn’t have any problems yet. Hope will never have.

Wind screen wipers look normal, steering wheel? Fix please. Fabric yes fix. When is the Tesla service center up by I-64 and blankenbaker road, Louisville Ky going to be up and running? Rub out the bumper?

Andy, i had the same loud motor whine issue with my model y performance from day one. I took it in and it was the penthouse seal on the rear motor. It wasn't properly sealed. Once they fixed that, it was quieter than my model 3 performance I traded in. It was very annoying until they fixed it. Especially around 50mph
