Well demonstrated and easy to follow but now I need to figure out why/how this method works to identify the positions of verticies C and D (and the correct internal angle of 108 deg at A and B). Once they are established vertex E is easily located.

be aware that this is just an aproximation construction. this is not the perfect pentagon. the angle ABD is not 108 degree it is only 107.58 and therefore only an aproximation.
