I love watching your videos. You pick the best guitars at the best prices. You give more personalised effort to the customer. There are bigger sellers on here that churn out bs videos and don't give a toss about the customer.

Hi Rich, is the final guitar (Green T) available left handed?

Hi Richard
I am afraid I must disagree over the GS pricing structure. I think it is wonderful to be able to see the price details. Almost everyone buying a guitar will have a budget. Being able to see the prices allows you to make compromises getting those things that are important to you may be better tuners or a different bridge or perhaps the colours, patterns or woods. It also allows you to configure your ideal guitar and save for it. In fact I wish there were more details of choices and the price involved, certainly on the pickup sides. People that don’t care about the price probably won’t be buying a GS. Not because they are not amongst the best but because they are not in a price range they would look. There are wonderful Swiss watches at under £1000 from established companies over 150 years old but there a some people who would only look at companies whose entry level watches are £5000 plus. I know from my own experience using the site would lead me to nudge the specs as I see that upgrade is only £XX. I will add that etc etc. So it would lead to me spending more on a GS. I would probably go for a single cut with Lollar or BKP humbucker pickups, Mahogany body and neck (both 1 piece, neck quarter sawn) locking tuners, ABM roller bridge and tail, four CTS pots. Comfort cut, locking strap locks that’s all for the moment I don’t know the colour yet ( would also consider swamp ash with maple neck.) Lottery dream guitars are cool.

Gordon Smith guitars are bloody everywhere now. I remember being in a pub in Glasgow about 15 years ago and seeing a guy in the resident band playing a lovely strat, I didn't recognise the logo on the headstock and I asked the guy about it and he told me it was a Gordon Smith, custom built down south. Always kept my eye on them. They just seemed to have exploded recently. Should have grabbed one when they were cheaper lol

Just to say I can see my comments about the pricing structure MAY have been taken a little out of context. One of the dangers of presenting videos totally off the cuff and saying how you feel. Dont worry! I think its a fascinating point of conversation and I would love to get Doug in and do a video on this. We were hoping PRE Covid to do a once a month video on Gordon Smith and Auden updates - I will see if we can get that back on track as I would love to discuss the current climate with Doug and the problems the lack of resources are causing all manufacturers - which all linked to my comments in the video. A more generalized price "band" that would include a number of options would simply help Gordon Smith give price guides without being QUITE so fixated on individual item pricing - same range of choices. It was a comment I made in the moment - because I care for the brand and want Gordon Smith to thrive! Thanks for listening and I am too - always. Thank you for your comments - much appreciated.

I like GS guitars. Sort of reminds me of G&L out here in California. I custom ordered a G&L ASST Special abut 20 years ago. Nowadays they're probably around 2k or +
IMHO-
When a potential customer engages with the shop owner/dealer the process becomes more personalized as to options and recommendations. 🎧

Sorry Richard i have to disagree on not knowing the price of the parts that i want on a guitar.
I know what the average retail prices are and don't expect to pay anymore for them.
I can't buy at trades prices, luthiers like Gordon Smith can.
Having bought custom made guitars, i want a breakdown of the cost before i place my order.
Even if it is below £2000, this is a lot of money to some players.
Anyone paying more than this has more money than sense, lets keep the UK luthiers in business,
the price of USA Custom shop models are beyond my pocket these days.
