Considering a career in nursing? Check out the Xavier Accelerated BSN in Columbus, Ohio. Located in the city’s Polaris area, our ABSN Learning Center enrolls students every January, May, and August, so you don’t have to wait to get started.

Spanning four full-time semesters, the program builds on your non-nursing college education so you can earn a BSN in 16 months. The curriculum comprises a rigorous blend of online courses, hands-on nursing labs, and clinical rotations in top health care facilities across the Columbus area. Our local clinical partners include OhioHealth and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

As an accelerated nursing student, you’ll attend weekly nursing skills and simulation labs at our ABSN Learning Center. It’s also where you’ll take proctored exams. We designed this state-of-the-art satellite facility just for our ABSN students. Inside you’ll find:

• A nursing skills lab that replicates the modern clinical setting so you can develop your core nursing skills using real hospital equipment and supplies under the guidance of an instructor. Skills that include catheterization, nasogastric tube insertion, and wound care.

• Nursing simulation labs that provide a highly realistic platform for you and your peers to intervene in a variety of patient care scenarios, from cardiac arrest to childbirth. Depending on the scenario, either a simulation manikin or human actor will carry out the patient role.

• A control room where faculty can make on-the-fly adjustments to a simulation experience based on how you and your peers respond during the activity. After each simulation, you and your peers will meet with faculty in a debriefing room to reflect on the experience and gain valuable feedback.
