Listen/Stream our album "Made in the Image":
----------------
This is the second song off of our album "Made in the Image", a concept album about identity. "Accolades" is about the futility of finding your identity in success, achievements, fame, and money. When I (Kierstyn) first started Zoetic, I was absolutely obsessed with numbers: streams, followers, likes, monthly listeners, etc. I only felt "worthy" if the numbers were good, and when they would stagnate or decrease, it affected my mood and perceived sense of worth.
Over the years, the Lord has been teaching me that ultimately what matters is working for His eternal kingdom. Our mission as Christians is not to build a following, it's to make disciples of all nations. When we work for our own ambition, it will never be enough. There will always be another milestone to hit, another mountain to climb. But when the "goal" is to simply serve God and His people, we can rest in knowing we are doing everything we are called to do. We are worthy because we belong to Christ, not because we're impressive to the world.

[LYRICS]
The emptiness creeps in
Working to forget
The numbers choose your mood
Show them they’re worth you too
You wanna be somewhere
But will you know when you get there?
Oh, all of it vanity
Worshiping who you want to be
The summit forever out of reach
Keep moving, always moving
Pushing the limits of your mind
Just to amaze them one more time
They’re waiting, always waiting
I want you to know
It will never be enough
And time is running from you
They’ll ask what you do
You’ll inflate the truth
Success to fill the void
Perform, you have no choice
You have to be someone
But will the work ever be done
Oh, all of it fades away
Worshiping who you want to be
The summit forever out of reach
Keep moving, always moving
Pushing the limits of your mind
Just to amaze them one more time
They’re waiting, always waiting
I want you to know
It will never be enough
And time is running from you
I want you to know
It will never (be enough)
And time is running from you
Worshiping who you want to be
The summit forever out of reach
Keep moving, always moving
Pushing the limits of your mind
Just to amaze them one more time
They’re waiting, always waiting
I want you to know
It will never end
And time is running from you
I want you to know
Fame will never be enough
And time is running from you

Zoetic is a Christian jazz fusion duo whose main mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to get Christians to think more deeply about their faith. Their usage of gospel chords and jazz harmonies within modern pop production help them stand out from other contemporary Christian artists. They boldly proclaim the gospel in their lyrics and have explored topics such as evangelism under persecution, following the call of Christ no matter the cost, freedom from addiction, controversial passages in the Old Testament, false gospels, and human relationships-- all from a faith-based perspective.
