I actually like that this character in the dub is the evil essence of Kaiba's soul that was expelled when Yugi and the Pharaoh performed a mind crush on Kaiba. Connects with the mysticism aspect of the series and makes more sense as to why this guy could pull off a somewhat decent imitation of Kaiba.

Fun fact: in the manga, this guy had a creepy puppet of kaiba, and instead of a mind crush, yugi forces him into a terrifying illusion of the puppet coming to life. He did this a lot early on btw
