Thanks for this. Unfortunately mine is the newer one. I am trying to disable the 5GHz channel on a Sky router but having no luck. There are no options that I can see in the router settings dashboard page. Any ideas or solutions? Change router to a third party that allows 5GHz disabling?

Still 5g for me on guest network :/ think my only solution might be to buy a cheap 2.4g range extender and connect to that.

Thanks this works. You'd think they would make it easier by just adding a WPS button. Or allowing the user to convert between 2.4Ghz and 5.0.

I got excited then someone finally fix this but then guests network still showed up 5 gigahertz😢 why wouldn't Google just update their system so you can change between 2.4 and 5? It's a huge flaw in their product

I did this and can’t get the guest network to stay on 2.4. It wants to stay on 5ghz. Any suggestions??? (Besides going outside. I tried that)

Sorry. No, this DOES NOT work. The guest network created is still 5GHz. It did NOT specifically only run on 2.4GHz wifi.

I returned mine, it's rediculous. 2.4ghtz is the lower band and not as strong, so why are all these companies building only 2.4. Frustrated.
