Youtube Demonitized my original video and age restricted it because I mentioned how Barbara Hutton's mother died. Hope you enjoy

A rollercoaster - that woman seems to have lived a thousand lives in the space of one average one, and despite the sad decline, what a life!

That was so sad. The people around her were doing the exact same thing, yet she was condemned for it. All the tragedies in one life. Very sad indeed 😢

Kudos to her for never identifying the man in the photo, women are often treated much more harshly than men in such situations. She was fascinating, great narrating as always.

I can remember, As a child in the 1950s, whenever we stayed in Scotland, eaves dropping in on fascinating conversations (gossips) between my Granny and mother, which were mainly about the “adventures” of the Argyles, in particular Margaret. She seemed to be more maligned and vilified than the duke.

Dear darling Margaret had so many challenges starting with “correcting” her left handedness all the way through to marrying Ian Campbell. We’ll never know of course but, so much trouble could have been avoided had she married Aly Khan. Can’t blame her for enjoying male company, she deserved more than that for staying in that marriage not to mention all of her work for the community. Poor Margaret was certainly outgunned in the art of deception, chicanery didn’t come naturally to her. My heart breaks for her, victimized, robbed, and finally destroyed socially. I can’t get over her oh so natural grace and elegance that shines through in the interview footage. Not for the first time, your film has left me in tears. Thank you and, rest in peace Your Grace💐

I met the Duchess several times. She was still beautiful in her 70s. The Duke of Argyll was a drunk and violent. She was a tiny woman with a huge presence.

Forcing a child to use their non-dominant hand is cruel. My own mother was a lefty, but was forced to write with her right hand. So cruel.

Another incredible video, thank you! I see the negative comments, but I just feel so sorry for her. I cried at the end ❤

Always the "fallen woman", never the "fallen man"!!! Women cannot fall without the contribution of a man. But I forget: this is what happens in a patriarchal system. Now, in the 21st c. the young generation are tearing into these old beliefs and rebuilding their world in their own vision. Bravo!!!

The double sexual standard between men and women then (and now) is telling.

I loved towards the last days/months of her phenomenal life, she stayed steadfast and focused on the best parts of her life and totally ignored the current circumstances everyone around her focused on. Her reality was in her consciousness and she was beautiful, wealthy and living her best life till the end. Surely it continues for her on the other side❤

I think I've written comments on most of your videos but this one!!! Where to start? Too much money, too much beauty, too much power, too much privilege and too much time. Would any of us had done things differently? Wonderful video!

Thankyou.I am a Campbell and enjoyed a visit to the Castle in 2013 where I was served by the present Duke. I met his late Father in 1988 when he was here in Australia for our bicentenary. I have a lovely photo I took of him and my son.

The Duke of Argyll was broke till he married Margret, Duchess of Argyll then took her money, then wanted to get rid of her so he could marry his mistress. The judge was appalling during the court case and when summoning up the divorce. He was all for the cad of a husband. But history remembers her but not either of the judge or her cad of a husband. Margret Duchess of Argyll had the last laugh.

All the usual problems of the vapid rich and entitled - a profound sense of ennui which leads them to lose themselves in excess and hedonism, but any sense of fulfilment ultimately eludes them. However, despite her many failings the Duchess seems to have suffered unduly at the hands of unscrupulous men and sometimes even women. A tragic figure with undeniable perseverance, who had her moments of triumph.

This was excellent! Thank you! It felt a lot shorter than a hour+. I lose all track of time when something’s caught my interest, it usually happens with books (I’ll start reading in the middle of the day an the next thing I know it’s dark out) and sometimes movies. You’re fast becoming my favorite YouTuber! Thank you for all the research and respect you give your subjects. I fully related her to love of teddy bears and very strong dislike of dolls (I cannot stand them.) I have a small but cherished collection of Steiff stuffed animals, including a teddy bear whose arms and legs moved like in the video you showed, from my mom’s (German) side of the family. They’re old, threadbare and still much loved. PS - I loved!! your last video, about the Osage Ballerina. I love ballet and have never heard of her. What an amazing woman. I’m glad you did it even if it didn’t get as many views as it should’ve. It definitely deserves more. I think over time it’ll get the views, there’s a lot of history in those 15 minutes.
