It wasn't really a competition show, this was Phantom Singer All Stars, which was friendly "competition" between participants of the Phantom Singer competition season 1-3 (Forestella won in season 2). This was during covid, they were all supposed to tour together but it was cancelled because of the pandemic, so the tv station decided to do this show instead. The "judges" are actually mostly the other participants of the show, plus a panel of judges who actually just there for friendly comments. There was really no stake here, just having fun :)

Forestella will always put their special spin on whatever song they cover. You want your mind blown? Check out their cover of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance. Other covers I would recommend are MJ’s Smooth Criminal, the Eurythmics Sweet Dreams, Luis Fonsi’s Despacito, or ANYTHING they have covered by Queen. They are just so much fun and you never know fully what to expect. For original work, I think you would like their song “Utopia”. (But it is part two of an unfinished trilogy of songs).

If you want to keep going doing this rabbit hole… Look up the Forte Di Quattro’s “Sound of Silence”. I promise goosebumps. ** Forte Di Quattro and Forestella were both quartets created by the survival elimination show “Phantom Singer”. Forte De Quattro won the first season, Forestella won season two.

Yes, Forestell is always surprising. I like the original as well, it's just a sentimental folk ballad with very profound lyrics. On the one hand, it's a wonderful homage to the original. On the other hand, this unexpectedly drastic twist gives the song a completely new direction, but it fits the general mood of the lyrics. "A rollercoaster of emotions" and brilliantly arranged.
