Amazing ! There is a huge mistake in this explanation of the origin of these letters. The creator(s) of the alphabet took a sound coming from the first letter/sound oftheir own vocabulary, example 3ain (the actual O) and Aiyn it's an eyes. So automaticly, when we have the word Olam (world), we recognize the Eye picture related to the sound O. The letter H means the relation between here world (down) and the Skies (above), and it's strickly related to the Mind, this tool able to connected human with God who is above the Skies.

The English alphabet is based on the Phoenician alphabet, so no, not "biblical". The Bible is of Hebrew origin, and was written in Hebrew and Aramaic. Neither of which were related to Phoenician. The Phoenicians were no more "biblical" than the Egyptians.
