It reminds me of the boy I loved, and that he loves me, now he's a stranger. So Beautiful
I remember This song makes me cry, it's so beautiful, she sings beautiful, and transmits with her song, that sensation and feeling of depth, .
Of all his songs, this is the one I like the most, the violin is perfect, the tone, everything transports you to a state of peace, melancholy, spirituality.
The melody is so deep and beautiful, it reminds me of the person I loved, and in the end you're left with nothing, only with yourself, to live in life, this song I hear it every morning as I walk through the woods by the lake being reflected by the rays of the sun, beautiful morning, melancholy, loneliness, sadness, beautiful deep song, makes you cry, makes you travel, you feel alive to breathe the fresh air, close your eyes and imagine your perfect life with the person you love most it is no longer
The person you love is a complete stranger

Dear Julia & Bowlegs,
I have always loved this magical song. Stripped of the beat, as you have done here, leaves the pure emotion of the song which is spectacular and powerful. Songs like this are a gift. There's no way a songwriter can make this happen on their own, a perfect combination of melody, lyrics, and the inflections given during the performance. Brought back tears, and I've heard this piece hundreds of times. Thank you, so very much.

Never has someone sounded so sad as they sing about how happy they are. Perfect interpretation of the song.

What a stunning performance. I love the space which the musicians have created for Julia's voice to unfurl and soar within.

This is breathtaking, yet even more incredible is her "studio version" of this same song, "Hello Stranger" which she presents on her CD "Loud City Song." On the album version, there are "soft echoes" of her voice singing the backing harmony and chorus in the background. It is stunning.

It's refreshing when a young artist does an "old" classic like this. It's a sweet (and a little melancholy) rendition.

Amazing piece of music. Stumbled on it by accident - 10/10

The last time we saw her in Scottsdale, AZ, she had every kind of loud instrument on stage, incl bagpipes. I asked her out loud "Why?" She just laughed and we left. I have ear damage and hyperacusis now so I guess 2 songs was it for life, for our Julia Holter Experience. Was hoping for "Hello Stranger".

Just discovered this version of this classic song, never heard of Julia before. Ist time I listened to it, I thought it to slow, the 2nd time the voice just floored me. The 3rd time, OMG!

What an assured performance.  A steely sure voice but, with real emotion and a gorgeous arrangement of this song.  Well done Julia!
