"I wasn't protecting her or protecting our vows."

Powerful!

A real man admits to his mistakes. Good on you Shaq. Much respect.

Shaq is getting older and reflecting on mistakes. Also, I remember him saying that he was lonely and missed having his family together. People forget the long term effects of their actions. Nice that he realizes his wrong but makes me kind of sad for him lol

"It's so hard for people to hold themselves accountable nowadays"

Charlamagne that definitely isn't "nowadays". Trust and believe older generations have been like that too. It's a immaturity thing in humans to blame others for your shortcomings.

I had to rewind that a couple time! Nothing is sweeter than hearing a grown man be a grown ass man to admit his wrong I can only imagine how Shaunie felt to hear those words ❤ #healing

His interview was so good. Shaq is so humble and lovable. It was so refreshing to see him take accountability!

Being a ride or die means going thorugh the ups and downs of life it doesn't mean dealing with a man that constantly disrespects or abuses you consistently in any way shape or form.

From a Married Woman- Thank you SHAQ for being a TRUE ALPHA MAN and taking accountability.. these red pill ass lames dont want to take accountability for nothing..

I love what he said-for being real. People always say-both were responsible! Not all the time. There are times where the wife was truly amazing and really what he needed-but he messes it up. Accountability is critical.

You can tell he loves her still and he does really respect her. I’m happy he took accountability and he sees she was the one because she didn’t drag him or dog him or constantly fight with him. She took lemons and made lemonade and a name for herself while still coparenting with him and making sure their kids still had a foundation and example so that they would be successful themselves. The proof of the type of woman she is shows by how he speaks of her and how successful their children are. I absolutely love Shaq for not trying to blame her.

Shaq: it was my fault

Wow, for a man of his status to admit to him being at fault is huge. Someone was reflecting during the pandemic

I don't wear Shaq shoe size, but I've walked in them shoes. Big up, Shaq. I still regret my divorce 8 years later 😔

Amen Shaq! I hate when people say it takes 2, sometimes it ACTUALLY came be one person that absolutely blows it! No person is perfect but, not being perfect is not the issue. The issue is constant disrespect, constant disregard, consistent abuse of one’s heart and forgiveness, consistently taking advantage of that persons grace, as he said not protecting and guarding his wife or his vowels. Sometimes…..it literally can be one person who has ruined the relationship by exhibiting consistent blatant disrespect and disregard for the relationship!

To be successful and humble are two rare combinations. We are all human. There is no L if there is a lesson to be learned. Utmost respect for Shaq for taking accountability for his actions. Without respect there is no love. Shaq clearly is respecting his Ex-Wife. Great Interview
