This is such a delicate process, but your results are awesome, thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial.

Elizabeth Keefner here…. Perfect timing. I have been struggling with clouds this past week. Now I have a new strategy and will try again Tomorrow.

Great video and beautiful result. One of the things I appreciate most about this video, and others' videos, is acknowledging and showing the failures, especially with a subject as delicate and complex as a cloudy sky. Thank you!

I find cloudscapes so difficult so I am really happy to have a video on it. Also encouraging to see that not all your paintings work out .

I am starting to learn watercolor. I am at step 1 really and I decided to start by practising painting skies every day for a whole month. I wanted to say a huge thank you for listing the paint colors you use, in the description section of this video. I am heading to the art store today and having a clear outline of what colors to use for this video tutorial is so appreciated! Thank you! I can't wait to get started!

I adore painting skies. Most end up in the trash, but it is still fun! Even your "failures" are gorgeous.

I love that you showed your fail. Cuz mine is a fail too, ready to start another one, and maybe another and another.

At 4:00 all I could see was a sea turtle swimming in the sea 😂 Watching you paint is like watching clouds in the actual sky -and figuring out shapes. Great video! Clouds have always been a challenge for me. Will definitely try this!

So cool, Steve! I have tried doing this over and over, with very little success, so I appreciate it that you showed us how. I’ve never tried so many layers! Well done!

I have never seen watercolor clouds that come close to these. They are beyond perfect.

If I could only fail as good as your fail :) I'm in love with the way your fail clouds came out, They look so interesting and inviting.

Quite impressed with your style of painting the clouds.
Although you demonstrate how to make clouds, the method is not at all "cloudy".
So much clarity has emerged today.
Appreciate your work and the sincerity with which you showed us the clouds which turned out to be sour.
Keep it up sir and thankyou so much for the excellent work.

Hi Steve, needless to say, I always enjoy your videos and have learned a great deal from them. One thing I really liked in this video is that you showed us a "fail" you had. Sometimes I get into thinking that I have to get it right on the first try. Your "fail" reminded me that it´s OK to have these "fails" and you just chalk it up to experience and try again. Thx much,

Thank you! I so need to work on improving my cloudscapes. Down here in Florida we have some of the best cloud formations. Guess I need to organize my sky photos into a reference library for future artwork. Thank you again for all the time and effort you put into your videos.

Watercolor clouds - really good ones - are hard. I keep trying. Someday I'll paint some I'm satisfied with, probably after many more fails. Thank you for this video. 💯

Steve, thank you for this tutorial. I can see how this technique not only makes for an excellent cloudscape but could be used for a seascape as well. Add some rocks to the foreground and you have a good beginning for some crashing waves. Can't wait to try it both ways!

Beautiful sky and clouds - always a challenge! Thank you for your demo. When I’m outside looking at a cloudy sky, I always seem to find shapes - I can see a horse looking to the left. Beautiful and, by the way, I love horses! 😊
