An 18-year-old student and her mother are set to travel to space after winning a trip on Virgin Galactic’s VSS Unity space craft.

Anastatia Mayers and her mother, Keisha Schahaff, are will make history as the first mother and daughter duo to go up into space.

Anastatia, originally from Antigua, is studying physics at Aberdeen University, and hopes to one day work for Nasa.

The Virgin Galactic rocket plane carried customers into space in its first commercial flight last month.

Nonsense. Has anyone evet heard of the Karmen line.
Space is much higher and Virgin Galactic does not fly to space. One should investigate if this was really a lottery or a way to make space travel diverse.

They didn't go to space. Space starts at 100km

But Virgin galactic only goes 87km up, thats not in space which is at the karman line at 100km

It’s too risky after the implosion at the titanic. You really have to think twice maybe four times that if something goes wrong there’s no turning back.
