American Idol alum Mandisa dead at 47

Tributes are pouring in for Grammy Award-winner and American Idol contestant Mandisa. The Christian recording artist featured our own Robin Roberts in the video to her 2014 hit “Overcomer.”

Got me thru so many hard times . Her voice gave me so much strength and hope in the goodness of God. She reminded me that the spirit Of God is always with me which is why I should dance w joy, and knowing I can overcome anything, and it's only today I'm living.
I feel so blessed to have been a fan. I'm gonna celebrate her talent and find new songs of hers I've never heard, I'm sure she has so much more to give even from the heavens.

My brother and I supported her on American Idol. She was wonderful and I love that she made gospel music. The gospel category fit her very well and she believed what she sung about....the glory of the Lord. Condolences to her family and close friends.
