Mercedes are spending £70,000,000 to upgrade their Brackley HQ. The team want to create a university style campus for their staff, featuring state of the art facilities as well as restaurants and more. Plenty of other teams are also in the process of upgrading their headquarters, but whether or not it will get them back to the front remains to be seen.

Thank God, we all know the only thing separating Mercedes from victory was having a “village like environment” in their factory 😂

This is how you spend the excessive money after all the F1 budget cap

They won’t make any significant impact to RB until the next regulation change, methinks

Does this investment count under the budget cap?

I heard the rumor that the village-like area is going to be named Wolffdam INEOS or Wolffdaim INEOS village. Sarcasm ofc.

Wouldn’t be suprised if it’s something to do with the cost cap. They splurge 70m on the factory they can right off and gives them space to spend elsewhere

The village like environment make mercedes unique and due to good environment it helps the team members to relax and find new ideas
Hope this leads mercedes come front
I think mercedes can invest to create a new track one for sprint and most turns which makes them for testing their car without leaking their strategy

Who’s doing the same? Merc is upgrading for cost controls, to bring room under the cap in the future. They could save more by dumping Russel and getting a seasoned parter form Hamilton.

I don't think it will directly impact their position in the season, but I think it will create a much better work environment for the team, which therefore will increase the quality of the work. Having a good work environment can really change how well your company does. I would also hope that this also includes restructuring of workloads and scheduling that will allow the employees to get proper rest, proper dining, and a workplace where they feel safe and appreciated. I'm looking forward to seeing the eventual outcome of this!

They want the lead again but i think Aston Martin and Honda's partnerships will be hard to beat like this season's Redbull and Honda's partnerships
So my advice to Mercedes to wait to see other Teams upgrades to finish and at this moment try to find more upgrades to let their car go faster

The environment is important, but is the culture good? Redbull has the best working culture.

Something strange is happening in F1 at the moment. Audi coming back, Honda getting reinvolved. Facility development. It's going to (hopefully) lead to a big competition for the title soon!

Wild that catering is tacked onto the cost cap, but not even a portion of a facility upgrade cost is.

Ahh yes
We didn’t spend over budget on car research
FIA: ya you did
Benz: no. We spent on facility
FIA: 🤬
