Zhiyun Weebill S Accessories - gimbal microphone. In this Weebill S gimbal accessory video, you will learn how to use a gimbal with an external microphone. I am using the Weebill S & Crane 3 lab to show you add a mic to your gimbal using an external mic and to use it with Zhiyun Weebill S.

If you want to know how to attach a mic to your gimbal, by using an external mic with gimbal, it can be a problem if you mount it to the cameras hot shoe. The microphone will hit the arm of the gimbal, and you won't be able to use the weebill S or Crane 3 lab gimbal in sling mode. In general, it will limit the movement of your gimbal, and it will also make it tip heavy. There are solutions to come around this problem. Let me show you how I set up your weebill s and crane 3 lab to use with a gimbal microphone.

If you have the gimbal grip, you can mount your mic on the top of the handle, but this is not ideal, because you need a long mic cable to let the gimbal move freely, and when put in underslung mode the external microphone will point the wrong way.
The best way to mount the mic to the Weebill S is to get it attached on the side of the gimbal arm so that it will follow the movement of the gimbal.

Another great way to come around this problem is to add a cage to your camera and mount the microphone to the side of the cage. I will show it on the Zhiyun Crane 3 lab. If you use a Weebill S, you will not be able to use a cage with all cameras.

I just want to thank you, I’m new at this and I ordered the accessories you suggested like the cheese plate, the l grip etc. now watching this I moved the wireless transmitter to the top of the L grip so I can attach the speaker I will eventually get to the bottom of the camera/Weebil Lab S gimbal.

how about the mic jiggle? Most rodes are mounted so that they are not fixed stiffly to the camera. Does that microphone jiggle impact the camera smoothness?

I have similar setup I’m trying to go for, the GH5 on the weebill lab and small rig cage with the microphone mounted on the left as in your example. How did you counter the weight of the microphone so the camera doesn’t droop (being top heavy on the left)

Wish they sold the wireless transmission mounting plate for the bottom side separately. The side extension arm (from your other replies) seems to work but the solution you have seems more compact and direct.

I have the weebill s with the exact smallrig magic arm with the 1/4 thread on both ends but it’s still too small to screw in the bottom of the rode micro which has a bigger screw hole..so how did you get yours to fit

What happens if the plate on the bottom didn't come with your gimbal as I didn't buy the transmission package? Can you buy this separately or is there an alternative without buying the transmission?
