Larry Levan fue venerado por sus viajes musicales, ganando un público fiel. fue de los primeros DJs que toco alrededor del mundo y uno de los primeros en desarrollar y poseer su propio sello discográfico, Larry Levan fue un verdadero pionero en la industria de la música. El mensaje abrumador de amor y positivismo que Levan comparte a través de su música rompió barreras en la escena de la música y más allá. Levan hizo remix para artistas venerados como Aretha Franklin, Grace Jones, Chaka Khan, Smokey Robinson, y Jocelyn Brown, que aun continúan siendo atesorados hoy en dia por DJs de todo el mundo. este legado es la causa de la petición que se ha iniciado para solicitar que la sección de la calle King entre Varick y Hudson sea renombrada "King Street Larry Levan Way"

When I went to the Paradise Garage during the late 1970s it was an eye opener for me. I got an education and loved it. It was a place where all colors of the rainbow could come and party with no types of stipulations. It was like this: "Kick up your heels and live".

I was there. With my hat to the back wearing eyeglasses right next to the disco ball. I never had the opportunity to go to the real Paradise Garage when it was open. I had a blast this day oh my God. I could see why it was legendary.

GOOSE BUMPS ALLOVER MYBODY...man o man what i missed..started djin in 7th grade ..1988 so i was to young for the garage..i cant even fathom what the system sounded like playin the true way blastin vinyl threw richard longs system. It actually hurts were djin went nowdays..computers that mix for u..sound quality SHAT ..but at least im well aware of what Larry and frankie did for guys like me...God bless u boys and ur both now playin da party in da sky and ILL NEVER EVER FORGET EM.
