Fair attempt, but no. You can't even pass that as even remotely similar to actual cretan tradition. Let me sum up all the things wrong in this video:
1. Rarely is it called maleviziotikos. In Greece it is rarely ever called that. We call it Maleviziotis like 90% of the time. (that's the least of my worries)
2. The fabric belt. No. Just no. Only thing correct is the colour. You tied it completely wrong. 1st of all there is just SO much fabric hanging. 2nd of all, in Crete the "zonária" (zo-nAr-ya) as we call them are tight and the entirety of them is wrapped around our body. Having a loose zonári (zo-nA-ree) made you seem weak and not manly in the village.
3. The basic steps. the BASIC steps. You didnt even get THOSE right and you wanted to do tricks? "talimia"??? Maleviziotis consists of 8 steps forward and to the right, and another 8 backwards and to the right again. NOWHERE did i see anybody doing 8 steps.
4. The tricks the men did. OH MY GOD. Y'all, WHERE and WHEN did you see cretans dancing on damn CHAIRS??? I know i haven't. Trust me, there are SO many dances from greece where yes, there is a dance just involving chairs and it is called "καρεκλάδικος" and "ζειμπέκικο" look it up
Im not even going to commend of the women's clothing where in reality is jaw-droppingly beautiful, that's is a money-related problem.

I will close this comment with a mantinada, an actual one:
Η κρητική παράδοση 'ναι μονάχα μία
και δεν αλλάζει με και δεν αλλάζει με καμία ξένη μαλακία

Nice try
BUT it is very important to stay to the original as it comes from Cretan tradition
This concern men's shoes, the way you wear the fabric belts etc, otherwise its something else
Its very important not to change our tradition.
