Eb vs. Bb Bass Trumpets

Two bass trumpets designed for the same purpose and in largely the same way, but pitched a 4th apart. How do they compare?

Wonderful sound on both. Some of the best bass trumpet playing I’ve heard. Robust and convincing low end where others sound flabby and exasperated. That low pedal on the E-flat sounded huge.

I think I much prefer the sound of the E-flat. More nimble in the high end and authentic “trumpety” sound while still having plenty of power in the basement.

Is the Eb trumpet in low Eb like an Eb tuba or more like an alto horn?
