I said I would go first and leave a comment about my favorite yarn to spin and my favorite wheel to spin it on, but I can decide! It's like trying to choose my favorite child! 😜

This is one of the best explanations of how double drive works that I have ever seen/read/watched.

Ok, I just found this channel today and I am going to say that it is by far the BEST instructional channel for spinning I have come across. I have only been spinning for a year and a half and already want to go fast on a double drive wheel. This makes the new “to me” drive system COMPLETELY understandable. Thank you for taking the time to teach. You are so easy to listen to and you know just what you are talking about. Much appreciation!!

I loved all your videos about drop spindles, because I just recently got a huge bag of alpaca wool gifted to me by my husband’s colleague. And I simply love spinning. It clears my mind, my hands love to be busy and the process is just a marvelous thing, making yarn out of floofy wool. But now, a miracle has happened: my mother happened to look out of the window at the exact time when a neighbour was putting an old spinning wheel in their car’s trunk. She ran downstairs, asked the neighbours where they’re going to take it and as they wanted to throw it away, she asked if I could have it. It’s a castle wheel! From the pictures I’ve seen, all parts should be there! I can’t wait to see it in person and try it out ❤ so I’m watching even more Evie videos now!

I just bought an antique double drive (flax wheel) at a thrift store today, so this is very helpful! Prior to this I have only used a drop spindle. My favorite yarns to spin are goat and llama fibers. I get it for free at work (I work at a zoo), and I love getting to spin fiber from animals I know personally!

Thank you. When people are enthusiastic it tends to reduce clarity of explanation. You have managed to retain both enthusiasm and clarity and the result is very helpful. Best wishes from the UK!

Just picked up an (at least) 100 year old double drive spinning wheel and this video has helped me get the thing spinning! I can’t describe how cool it was to see such an old machine start up and spin like it’s brand new

I'm looking at an antique wheel to surprise my wife, who's a fiber freak. I doubt she'll want to spin but I do want one that would work. You video has helped me be able to evaluate the wheels I'm considering. Thanks!

I'm getting an old double drive castle wheel (a "husband wheel" made by the grandfather of a former acquaintance) ready to be gifted to a new spinner. I learned a lot which I can pass on to her, thank you!

My husband suprized me today with a lovely castle style spinning wheel. I've always wanted one. Your videos were recommended to me and I'm so glad I've found you. Your tutorials are so informative and easy to follow, I can't wait to start spinning.

Someone just gave me an old double drive as I was looking for a spinning wheel to start spinning for the very first time. Your video is gold! Thank you so much for making it !❤

I am a spinning virgin based in the UK and acquired a double drive just before lockdown (I didn’t even know it was a double drive). Your explanation here is invaluable I have watched it twice, you are a natural presenter. Spinning is like learning to drive - several skills to synchronise and I’m now on that journey. My second skein of just 2-plied wool (Jacob) is actually useable - but will be kept for posterity. Am now drying some fleece after scouring which is from a friends ram - my next adventure - yes I’ve watched your fleece videos too. Subscribed & fully engaged - go girl!!!
ps- i’m not Roy Burch (that’s my dad) not sure how his name appeared here, I’m Wendy !

You are delightful and I look forward to learning a LOT from your channel as someone who has never spun on a wheel before!

I feel rusty and out of practice with my spinning wheel so as soon as I finish my current knitting project the Ladybug gets a spa day! Listening to your playlist makes me think "THESE are the YouTube videos I was looking for!" (in 2014!) Listening while I knit for now but I've only tried double drive a few times. I know where to look if/when I want to do it again ♥... one more sleeve!

Super helpful in figuring out how to optimize my new vintage double drive, after only ever spinning on borrowed scotch tension wheels. Thank you, Evie!
