What to do if I have milky water - Welsh Water

Milky water is usually down to air getting into the water system. The colder the water the greater the chance of air bubbles appearing. Therefore, you have more chance of getting milky water during the winter.

Water with air bubbles is safe to drink. Air bubbles get into the water line when Welsh Water have been doing work on the water lines.

There is a test which you can do to see if the milky water is due to air bubbles:

• Fill a glass of cold water
• See if it clears from the bottom to the top
• If it does then the milky water is due to air bubbles

If you are updating the videos some time in the future, could you please show a glass of water with the bubbles dissipating - I'm trying to convince some friends that the water from our taps is safe to drink... many thanks
