QUAIL CAGE DISINFECT - Spring Cleaning the Quail Room

Hey Terry! I’m loving the videos! Just a thought: I built my cages with the wire on the inside of the frame instead of the outside. It prevents the quail from pooping on the rails and reduces risk of bacteria. Maybe it wouldn’t matter for you, since you clean your cages so often, but it might reduce the amount of times you need to clean in a month. My cages stay sparkling clean, and I only need to wipe down the bottom wire occasionally.

i use viniger to clean the cages along with dish liquid and rinse well, i have plastic and steel cages

Love your channel. Binge watching as I just found it. May I suggest that you pressure wash the waste catcher tray before you wash the waterers and feed trays? Couldn't help but notice them drying in the background and over spray from the pressure washing could settle and therefore contaminate them.

You might try lysol the original brown bottle. We disinfect wounds on horses and cows with very dilute mixture. To spray directly on wounds you want a light Grey mixture. My 90 year old dad has used it for 70 of those years. Pinesol cleans but doesn't disinfect.

Have you ever tried raising quail not in cages there really is no need to keep them is such tight space. I know it’s your job but surely you would get more enjoyment out it seeing them in joy life. ?
