Aggressive Fracture Repair 🛠️ Driving Nail Into Bone #shorts

Показать описание
Intramedullary nailing is minimally invasive and effective treatment option for extraarticular distal tibial fractures. Advantages over traditional open reduction and plate fixation can include shorter operative times and reduced risk of wound complications. Studies have shown that suprapatellar insertion technique significantly reduces the incidence of malunion, allowing for better maintenance of reduction during reaming and nail insertion. Plus, this technique doesn't cause cartilage injury or increased postoperative knee pain. Proper fixation with distal interlocking screws is essential for stability. The number and direction of these screws don't affect the stiffness of the construct, but maximizing their working length does increase stiffness 🔩.

With the right technique, intramedullary nail fixation can successfully treat extraarticular and simple intraarticular distal tibial fractures while minimizing complications. #tibial #brokenleg

Inhad this procedure in 2010 and technicaly you can walk on it right away in the perspective of the tibia but the trauma cause in the knee prevent from walking right away, and also the pain.

I had this done following a car accident. My surgeon says I nothing is holding me back from everything I did before but running is just painful.

My dad had kneereplacement. They place rod right in center of the bone. He had it for several years. Until he got tired of the pain throughout those years. So had his above knee and bottom leg removed

Love your videos. Rather find out by looking at you than the hard way.

So how do they preserve the function of the bone marrow in the blood and immune systems after this procedure?

Real question, when you do this, or shove other things in the middle of the bone, isn’t that where the bone marrow is and makes white blood cells or something? Does it matter in your over all health if you have less overall bone marrow? Like if you had rods in all your major bones would that be a big issues?

Does this process remove the bone marrow? What are the adverse affects of removing such an important part of the bone? I’m not a critic, I’m just curious.

Having a tibial nail replacement with a complex open fracture.

Bone doc would be okay with showing a live case possibly.??

They would have to remove the bone marrow and not leave any room to regenerate. I don't like the sound of that.
