The best way to play this game on ps5 is running the ps4 version on ps5, it's a solid 60fps

From Software makes great games, but their engine is doodoo.

XBOX Series X | S owners if you want a locked 60fps go to your network settings and "go offline". The game performance for some reason is a solid 60fps but it means playing offline.

Anytime fps drops under 60 you see and feel it. So yes, it absolutely matters, in all games. I’ve been playing the PS4 Pro version on PS5 since the beginning and I’ll never switch. 99% 60fps locked

Some people didn´t play Batman Arkham City and Skyrim at 15-25 fps at their Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 15 in 2011 and it shows.

60fps should be the standard for every game and console.

The real issue is pop in. The grass appears after the character passes. lol

I hope they implement fsr 3 frame generation. The performance of Immortals of aveum with frame gen on PS5 is just brilliant and amazing!

Erdtree reportedly drops to even 30FPS on PS5. That is crazy.

If you play on Xbox Series X/S use monitor with 120 hz and just turn on VRR. The game then runs fabulously then and you don't see any fps drops. There is also pro tip for playstation players. Buy Elden Ring, but only PS4 version at disc. You then have the ps4 version of the game and a free upgrade to ps5, but that's not the most important thing. Installing the PS4 version on the PS5 makes that, the game can lunch in backwards compatibility and runs brilliantly in this mode, offering stable 60 FPS everywhere! In the game itself, the only visible difference is less grass (no pop ups for that - which is better in my opinion) and lower resolution (PS5 offer 4k scaled from 2688 x 1512 but in backward compatibility game had 1800p).

series X has an advantage with VRR cuz its usable down to 40fps while ps5 you need to be at 48 minimum.

Unless you have some mental problems, or visual problems, there's a massive difference between 46fps and 60fps.

Makes sense, as xbox series x has a little bit more raw power.

Games that I held up on playing for the ps5 pro are elden ring, cyberpunk, ff16, dragon dogma 2 and probably silent hill 2 a mid gen refresh is badly needed.

Between 45 and 60 it's OK, below that, it start to be annoying

Fromsoft has always had a reputation for wildly inconsistent frame timings in their Souls games. Apparently, they don't outsource this part to a company that specializes in framerate work and instead did it themselves. This is the result.
