Ich nehme immer einen ganz billigen Platz, sodass ich nur das Orchester sehe, höre, geniesse, bewundere, aber nicht, was auf der Bühne losgeht. Dieses Klamauk-Theater geht an meinen Verstand völlig vorbei, obwohl ich allgemein und auch musikalisch einigermassen gebildet und weltoffen bin.

A shining star of this production is Marina Rebeka. She's a lot better than this Donna Elvira.

Great look at this monstrosity. Horrible. Opera is dead in the Anschluss countries. So German. So extreme. I can count on one hand the number of German speaking directors with any talent. So much money and so little talent.

Oh, please.... what does it have to do with "the Anschluss countries."  It does have a lot to do with lack of style, ghastly theatrical choices, flat and strained singing, and adding things via the production that Mozart (remember, the composer) would have written music for had he wanted things like-- an ape.  But to be racist about it, just proves that the lessons of the past have gone unlearned.
