NDI also works over 1G Ethernet and includes control/KVM capabilities. The difference is NDI uses proprietary compression which can be implemented efficiently in software. NDI are now pushing their audio only modes to compete with Dante (which look very attractive thanks to their free tools). Fundamentally the biggest difference is Dante audio and Dante AV require hardware boards made by Audinate to be integrated into hardware products.
I'm sure it'll have a place in AV world feeding hdmi screens around bars/facilities but I doubt the guys at NDI are worried!
