The Difference Between 'Best Friend' and 'Close Friend'

How do you differentiate the definitions of "best friend" and "close friend?"

What do you think each term of friendship means?

Courageous Beauty believes that those terms are pretty subjective and it will depend on what each person means when they assign that title if you will.

For the most part, there does seem to be a difference between the two: "best friend" implies that friend, out of any other, is the closest to that person. But there are some who might have multiple best friends and that's okay! It's also okay to have someone who is your best friend, but they have someone else that fits that title for them. You don't always have to be each other's best friends!

When in doubt, you can always ask that friend what she means when she says you are her "close friend" or "best friend" and you can clarify what you mean by them too.

For me a close friend is a friend you see and talk with all the time and you feel comfortable with them. A best friend is a friend that you treat special even though you haven't talked for a long time but you can feel the bond ❤️. I have a lot of friends and close friends but I only got 2 bestfriends.

I think we can have a lot of close friends but there is Only one best friend only ONE!!! my close friend aka best friend said I am her best friend but she really has someone equally important bestfriend as me as she sit with her in the class how she can call me bf so I said I have a bf.
