I could easily see TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube becoming the new label and just cutting out the major record labels. They already pay creators

A lot of people are wising up but there’s more people that’s desperate enough to sign deals..not knowing how to make money out the music and not having the money to invest into promo/marketing is the reason why most people will sign a deal with a record label..

IDK 'bout "extinction" but labels gotta go one of two ways: 1.) Predators, exploiting clueless artists and indifferent listeners, or 2.) Partners, inking fair deals with real value-add for clueful artists and sophisticated listeners. I'd sign with 2 because, even though I could do it all myself, I damn sure don't want to.

some artists get licensing deal with labels to just distribude music and get their promotion services is it worth it in this case?

you made such a poignant point in that first minute. also, thank you for posting that Pop music article. there is way too much talk about hip hop and the state its in. Pop has been in a state of a second now but because hip hop is so hard on itself in public, it dominates narratives(and its majority black). if you went over to country, they'd be as frustrated as well.

I already purchased the original 60 Day Record Label course and followed it pretty closely. Should I buy the new one?

*Casey I am so happy and thankful that you QUALIFIED all of this including their press releases FOR THE RECORD! Instead of allowing their BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES to stand as a blanketed fact over the entire industry. But they do, do a lot in order to DEFAULT! Whereas there is an agenda to usher in AI as the new act on the scene and replace humans with it. Like those bastards are really pushing for that.*

They fuck it up and true artists don't want them, just hard for artists to make a living themselves with it

It’s seems so. But the reality is that they still up today control the airplays. As an indie artist, you music cannot be played on mainstream platforms.

Labels and streaming platforms are corrupt. Radio is dead. There’s plenty of great music being made, but you won’t hear it unless you know about it. Certain genres are not promoted at all and rely on word of mouth or other sources like magazines. Some artists seem over represented by mainstream media.

360 deals that's why....they are needed for promotion tho...."sponsored by Atlantic records" is payola...can't convince me otherwise...black stations play more throwbacks than new music....that should tell u something...ppl tired of getting insulted and threatened on records😄...like damn yall not normal people and can't speak bout nothing else...yall all demons🤔....doesn't help the world gone soft either....artists push boundaries and expand the genre....aint that many artists if everyone is just waiting for something to copy🤷🏾‍♂️

I still prefer a machine … too much work being independent…. I think you need to use a label and on top of that promoting yourself on the internet … the trick is being able to sign negotiate a fair contract
There still major use in a label …. However at the rate they’re breaking out artists and the competitive continent climate, there will be music industry decline regardless
I’d argue and say it’s harder for independent artist to break out too …. As social media technology has overwhelming content …. Going viral AINT easy
