Glad I got my 24 inch Troy Bilt 2 stage snow blower. I installed an impellor kit according to your instruction video. This year, a rock got wedged between the impellor and the housing. After clearing that I adjusted the auger cable, learning how from watching another video you had put out. My snowblower now throws snow almost three time the distance it used to. I am so impressed. Installing the impellor kit was a big pain in the a**, it took me awhile, but I did get it done. Adjusting the auger cable was a breeze. Got it done right the first time. I also installed a carburetor last year too. Learned how from watching another one of your videos again. You have been a big help. Thank you for your videos.

I got rid of my 3x cub cadet snowblower with the 420cc engine because it broke in a year. First reverse went out. Then it refused to turn. Bought a Honda 32 and have never been more happy.

I've had the Cub Cadet 3x 26 since 2013. All of your comments are spot on. I've had the front auger rust out and spin off. I've gone through bags of sheer pins in a season. I've replaced the drive and auger cables due to snapping. I've replaced the auger belt many times. It's been a frustrating machine for sure. The engine has been rock solid and I've never had a single engine issue. The tires and traction have been flawless as well. This machine cannot handle wet snow whatsoever. It's a clogging nightmare every time. I'll never buy another 3x model.

This was the model I was looking at next to an Ariens Deluxe. We just got a storm with 2.5 inches per half hour out here in NY, and the new Ariens Deluxe I got did very well in the snow, with no clogging.

You need to do a video on how to remove the spinning impeller and increase the size of the augers on each side, plus no fuel shut off is a PITA every season when you go to start it again

I’ve got a 2-stage MTD unit. It’s worked great for me, especially in heavy (dry) snow. If it’s wet snow, fuggedaboutit. Used to have a single stage when I lived in Fargo. That sucker worked great (I don’t think we ever got a wet snow there like we do in SE Wisco) and if I had a 2-stage I think it would have worked better. My limiting factor was how high the piled snow on the sides of the driveway became. Now that I’ve got a gravel driveway, I’m considering something else, like a plow/pusher.

Thanks for the review and sharing of your experiences!

I'm from Southern Ontario, i have a cheap 2018 24" B&S that has been surprisingly great, my next on with be an Ariens!

The blades/tigns on the auger are out of alignment. I had this problem on my 11 horse power MTD. EXACTLY the same clogging problem. I bent them parallel and it again worked great.

Just a word to the wise...it's best to keep the metal gas tank full during the of season. That way it won't accumulate any rust from moist air. I learned this years ago motorcycles. I see some of the new larger snowblowers have metal gas tanks (I didn't notice if they were steel or aluminum) so you may want to check that out. I always thought the plastic ones were better and I don't quite understand why they would change with the larger models?

I was contemplating between a 2x either from cub cadet or Husqvarna. I’m happy with our decision with Husky!

I have an Ariens 824 that is 25yrs old and still runs like it’s brand new. I get it serviced every year which keeps it running like new . 👍

I've owned a 3x for 8 years. We have two driveways and routinely get snow as high as the blower. It's been a great blower maintenance wise. Really goes through the deep snow and it's a powerhouse. However yes you are right the ends of the driveways are an issue with clogging. I'll be buying a different brand once this one is wore out.

I think I'm going to go give my old Simplicity 860 from '91 a hug, it's earned it.

I've been blowing snow for three days now (a couple of hours each day), so I probably don't need to watch a video about snowblowers. But I'll watch it anyway.

Something is right about this. I purchased this exact snowblower last year. And we recently got snow that was wet any heavy. I had no clogging issues. Don’t know why you had these problems.

I have the 3 stage Cub cadet and agree with the review, in the right snow conditions it’s amazing, but the centre “fan” cannot be pushed directly into deep or wet snow or the shear pins break and if the snow is more on the wet side, the machine ends up pushing a lot of snow, I think a straight forward 2 stage with traditional style blades would work better.

Well I do own a Cub Cadet 3X 26” and I was pretty depressed when I saw this review that I happened to watch after a long day of clogged snowblower clearing!
So I bought a 3/8” rubber 4 impeller kit and I cleared my slushy gutter with no problem! THANKS FOR THAT VIDEO 🤣👍👍👍It’s SO MUCH BETTER!!

Never thought the 3 stage impeller was a good idea. Even more seeing the “shelf” and the tiny augers. For that money, yikes! I’ll stick to my 2 stage. We just had 2 storms within a week (around 80cm) and she cleared it no problem. Helped neighbours and even cleared the plow pile in front of our community mail boxes. 😎
