For humans to survive on other worlds, they’ll have to harness the resources – like water – that exist there. A recent competition held at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, aimed to find ways of doing just that.

This is an archived version of live coverage from the 2018 Mars Ice Challenge on June 7, 2018 from NASA's Langley Research Center.

If water is plentiful we could just inflate a dome the spray heated water around the dome to crate ice. Like an exterior skeleton igloo. Just keep layering the ice till it becomes a foot or two thick. Because of the lower gravity and the low temperature this could be done to create and exterior coating that can help with radiation.

You will need to have tons of water to make more habitable planets and biological environments! you are not talking about some specific area you talking about huge a plantes.! it is good for research and to learn how to exract anyway.
