Hurricane Hunters fly into the eye of Hurricane Ida

Members of the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, also known as the Hurricane Hunters, went straight into Hurricane Ida Sunday morning.

"The damage and the threat is being far from over at this point," said Garrett Black, the captain aerial reconnaissance weather officer.

Just hours after being upgraded to a category four storm, the Air Force Reserves went directly into the stormy skies.
