It's entirely possible subtle things like this are INTENDED so that they can show simple image proof that some other game copied assets. The phrase usually goes something like this "They copied everything, including the bugs"

theres actually 2 more. in the grindstone gui there a #8C8C8C at the grindstone slot corners (shouldve been #8B8B8B), and in the brewing stand theres a on the coil shadow (shouldve been #373737)

This is most likely for copyright issues, so Mojang can detect if a Minecraft clone has copied Mojang's original textures.

It's like how atlas makers put a few fake streets on their maps so that if another publisher were to copy their work the original owner could immediately tell. Canary in a coal mine sort of thing.

2:52 it could be to specify where the crafting inventory position would be at for a easier calculation of where you would make the crafting table as it is close to that area and so the color is just slightly different enough that it uses that as a bases of code or something
