Michelle Gonzalez was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD) at 12 years old. In 2020, as an adult, she underwent a kidney transplant at Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio, Texas. The donor, her husband Sal, was her perfect match. He now runs marathons to raise awareness and encourage others to become organ donors. Organ donation saves lives!
