Miguel Cabrera made his Major League debut with a walk-off homer for the Marlins on June 20, 2003.

Entering the 2021 season, he needs 13 home runs for 500, and 134 hits for 3, 000. He hopes he can reach both this season. In 18 years in MLB, so far, Cabrera has a .313 career batting average

It just got announced today that Miggy was struggling with knee pains. He might not play after this 2022 season. If he does I will be very sad, he has been my favorite player for so long. Love you Miggy

Here is my thoughts on this...

1.) Rivera hung that one, it was a flat pitch with no movement. What'd you expect? I wouldn't call this a Great play, that was a horrible pitch and Rivera knew it.

2.) better movement but right down the middle. horrible pitch to a great hitter.

3.) Flat and down the middle. Slight movement form left to right. Miggy doesn't see pitches like this anymore.

4.) probably the best pitch here so far. Up and away movement, trying to paint a corner and Cabrera drilled it. The fact the announcer said that was coming in...well I'm hoping he meant in the strike zone because that was an outside pitch with movement.

5.) good lefty movement on the pitch. Nice arc, but I've got to ask who would ever throw a pitch close to the middle of the plate for Cabrera in his prime?

These are all great home runs on OK pitches. But these are not his highlights. I've see him hit a home run off of his shoes, he's stolen a base in an important game, I've seen him making a diving catch at both first and third...All I'm getting at is hitting a home run on bad pitches aren't great plays.
