In this video I review the Camp Snap screen free digital camera, and explore whether it can help you cut the cord and live in the moment. For photographers who enjoy minimalism, simplicity, and living in the moment, this unique camera offers a compelling option for not much money - though it's certainly no Fujifilm X100VI.

As someone who's shot and scanned a lot of film, I'd say the pictures from this look better than scans from the 400 or 800 speed film used in a disposable, and that's pretty much the point of this camera, something to use instead of a disposable or other cheap film camera. Some of my most memorable shots were from a cheap drug store camera with similar capabilities to a disposable, because it was small and I didn't worry too much about losing or breaking it so I always had it with me and ready. So this is like that except without the expense of film.

They did most of what you suggested with the new model Camp Snap. The image quality is noticeably better—so maybe you can pick up one of those and do a review of that as well. I like is because I can focus on what going on and not fussing trying to get the perfect shot with my expensive digital cameras.

Like you said at the start of the vid.... It's been made for Kids come in all ages, so I think its best to cater for the really young ones, as they have.... and choose a different camera for the more technical kids like yourself.

Thanks for the review, my old point and shoot just died and spending a lot on films and film developing was quite annoying for my tiny budget (cartooonist here, we're poor) and this could be a good solution to get the nostalgic touch of my point and shoot with a digital cam !

iPhones these days shoot RAW and have professional level editing, it's even worse for "living in the moment" than my DSLR is because I feel compelled to finish editing the photo right there and then.

I absolutely love it though.

i jumped the gun and ordered one before watching your vid, haha. we’ll see how it holds up. I’m a sucker for bad quality but good composition shots.

I pull off my photos by plugging a usb-c cord from the camera to my Mac. I don't unscrew or remove the SD card.

How do you access the SD card? I unscrewed the part it says to in the instructions but nothing opens

I can pull my iphone out and take quick snapshots or quick little videos without using my phone for anything else for days without bother.
I'm quite happy to do this because I don't have facebook, Very seldom check Instagram or care who's messaged me (in general) until I'm 'either at home or not doing anything important.
I made a decision to treat smart phones like this from day one. Even with a camera like the Camp Snap, I'd still bring a phone with me for emergencies.
So, not for me, I've actually owned and used many crappy cameras over the years and don't miss them one bit, my iphone is 'good enough' that's all.
Still, I appreciate your opinion!

Never heard of this camera. But like the idea. I've toyed with covering the rear lcd on my x100v for a similar experience.

Ultimately, just picked up a 2011 powershot for $10 and the CCD sensor takes similar nostalgic feeling photos.
