You had the absolute 'best' description of what Favorable Findings mean out of all the other videos I watched!

I looked over my decision letter last month when I received it. After reading over the two connected at zero, it discouraged me so I sort of stopped reading all of the 5 denials. One month later, I started to examine the document more closely. I remember reading a law that states if you get multiple connected at zero, the VA can award you 10%. On the last page, I could make out favorable. This caught my eye. I read it again. I was shocked. I was given the consolation prize of 10%. I owe the DOD $50, 000 that they gave me as a separation Incentive from the Army in 1996. I did the math. It will take me 24 years to pay it off!!! Ridiculous. I was service connected for Severe PTSD, IBS and Vericocele with zero comp. I'm 65. Can't catch a break these days.

In my case I filed in 2002 and was denied because I did not have the diagnosis at the time (a rare condition). I gave up and walked away. In 2021 I learned what to do and filed with the name of the condition (not a supplemental). There were no favorable findings listed on my original decision letter, only notes that I was in medical often for the symptoms. I was forward deployed overseas for years and they did not want to medivac me because it was not life threating. Worth doing an HLR?
