What is the role and mission of the European Securities and Markets Authority? How do we achieve our objectives and, looking back at the past decade, what have been our milestones?

At ESMA, we aim to make the financial markets work for the EU and its citizens. To achieve this, we foster effective and stable markets and enhance the protection of retail investors. Strong supervision is also an important part. At the same time, we give a great deal of importance to sustainability and technological and data innovation.
