As a Bama fan I can tell you personally how the fan base feels. We’re hoping for a win but aren’t going to be disappointed with a loss. If we’re curb stomped that’s a different story though. We have to be competitive.
UGA on the other hand feels like all the pressure is on them. If they don’t win they’re still Bama’s lap dog (pun intended).

As much as I like Carson Beck, He has to show up in these big matchups. You look at what Stetson did in some big games in his career against Ohio State semi final game, Alabama in the National Title game, when they played Tennessee at the time was number 1 team in the country, Stetson showed up in those big moments to help them win those games. Carson has to go out there and prove it this weekend

It seems to me that CKS keeps his play book limited early in the season. I also think he likes to create a struggle game early on that relies on his O-line. The playbook against KY seemed very limited and vanilla. I believe we'll see a different offense against Bama. Also, get ready to welcome back Mykel Williams.

I like how Jake puts emphasis on the ROE in Milroe. Bad boy playing by his own rules

It’s wild how much people are wanting Georgia to lose this game. These dudes didn’t say one good thing about UGA outside of “Georgia isn’t Wisconsin”

Bama catching points at home, Deboer with extra time to gameplay around Milroe,
the motions, the RPOs, the designed QB runs, single wing concepts, the Spread,
Deboer with extra time is deadly I know first hand, he and Penix made me crazy money last year
covering and beaten Oregon outright twice when everyone said Lanning was next up. Give me Bama
on the ML here, 6pt teaser with Colorado too

Every match up in this series has been close. The 4th quarter winner has won the match up. Kirby is deadly with more than one week to prepare. Dawgs will play. Game will be close. 4th quarter will decide the outcome.

As a Georgia fan, Alabama +2 might be the freest money in the history of football.

I think these are mostly great points, but Bama has a YOUNG secondary. I believe we are starting 2 true freshman at CB right now. While UGA hasn't shown to have elite skill position players who can create explosive plays, I'm curious how they will look against a young inexperienced secondary. The game will be determined by how well our O-line can help them out and bridge the gap and if Beck can make the throws. Last year in the SEC game had 4 balls that were basically dropped interceptions and some missed throws.

Only question I have does Ala have enough st QB to win the game. Couldn’t help but notice against Mich, Saban scaled playbook down due to his limitations. Other than qb limitations ALA would’ve destroyed Mich. same concern I have for this game.

D line definitely not as great as 21-22 but against Kentucky they were down 2 main guys. If they're back they'll have more depth Saturday which should be important.

My longer take on UGA, Bobo the bozo and the last 5 games. I am a UGA fan.

How Conservative Playcalling and Bobo’s Return Doomed Georgia and will again.
Georgia’s defeat in the 2023 SEC Championship wasn't just about Alabama’s stellar play. Much of the blame must fall on Georgia’s Offensive Coordinator, Mike Bobo, whose conservative play-calling haunted the Bulldogs throughout the game. Despite having the offensive firepower to keep Alabama on their heels, Bobo's refusal to open up the playbook stifled Georgia’s momentum at crucial moments, particularly in the second quarter when they were held scoreless.

This isn't the first time Bobo’s play-calling has come under fire. His previous tenure as Georgia’s OC from 2007 to 2014 saw similar criticisms, particularly in high-pressure situations where his predictable strategies failed to adjust to the elite defenses of Alabama and other top-tier opponents. Many fans were perplexed by Kirby Smart’s decision to bring Bobo back after Todd Monken left for the NFL. Monken had crafted one of the most dynamic offenses in the country, leading Georgia to back-to-back national championships. Bobo, however, returned with a reputation for playing it safe—a flaw that proved costly against Alabama.

In the 2023 SEC title game, Georgia managed just 78 rushing yards on 31 attempts, with Bobo frequently opting for conservative runs on early downs that often left Georgia in unfavorable third-down situations. While Carson Beck had a solid game (21/29, 243 yards), Georgia's offense struggled to stay on the field, as Bobo’s unwillingness to take chances downfield limited their opportunities.

A Game of Small Margins
The last five games between Alabama and Georgia have been decided by narrow margins, and this latest chapter was no different. The 2023 SEC Championship marked Alabama’s fourth consecutive win over Georgia in SEC title games (2012, 2018, 2021, 2023), with each contest hinging on late-game heroics, key defensive stops, or critical coaching decisions.

Alabama’s 27-24 win followed this script, with Jalen Milroe delivering timely passes and Alabama’s defense stepping up to stifle Georgia’s high-powered offense. But beyond Alabama’s performance, the game felt like one Georgia could have, and perhaps should have, won. Georgia’s defense largely kept Alabama’s offense in check, limiting Milroe to 192 passing yards and holding Alabama to 306 total yards. Yet, the Bulldogs' offense couldn’t capitalize when it mattered most, due in no small part to the cautious game plan.

Bobo’s Impact on Georgia’s Championship Hopes
Georgia’s conservative play-calling wasn’t just an issue in this game—it could cost them a chance at the national championship. If Alabama knocks Georgia from the top spot, the Bulldogs' path to the College Football Playoff is suddenly less certain. Even if they make the playoffs, teams like Tenn, Ohio State, or Texas are likely going to be watching tape of this game and seeing how Bobo’s lack of aggressive play-calling could be exploited.

What’s even more baffling is why Kirby Smart chose to bring Bobo back after his uninspiring first stint as OC. When Smart took over as head coach, he promised to bring Georgia to the forefront of college football. After back-to-back titles, they have done just that. But with Bobo, the offense has taken a step backward, and many fans are left wondering if this decision will be the Achilles heel that undoes all of Georgia’s hard-earned success.

Conclusion
The 2023 SEC Championship game was yet another thrilling encounter in the Alabama-Georgia rivalry, but it also highlighted the limitations of Georgia’s offense under Mike Bobo. In a game decided by just three points, Georgia’s conservative approach, especially in critical moments, made the difference. While Alabama rightfully celebrated their SEC title, Georgia fans are left questioning whether Bobo’s play-calling will cost them not just this game, but their shot at another national championship.
