The UN Security Council has voted to extend humanitarian aid deliveries to millions of Syrians who rely on it to survive. But Western States had to give in to Russia's demand and reduce the open border crossings for aid supplies into the country to one – at Bab al-Hawa, on the Turkey-Syria border in Idlib Province. Aid agencies are warning that the decision to shut down all other access routes will intensify the suffering of thousands of displaced Syrians and cost lives.
