Drift Ghost S review

My review of the Drift Ghost S video camera.
It's main function is as a helmet camera but it cam be mounted to virtually anything. It's shock proof and waterproof to 3m and records video at 1080p at 60fps.

Hi, nice review. I also have the ghost s and I'm really pleased with it.
However if you look at the drift website it does say that they have had issues when a SanDisk SD card is used. Just thought I'd mention it.

Great job on the review. I've been a Drift camera owner from way back when. I now have the Drift HD. It's time for this one I guess. I subscribed.

Put a bit of very thin tape over the mic to fix wind noise. You may have to turn up the sensitivity too!

New sub. Ur review was so helpful on making a decision! Few questions: with an external mic, is the sound better? Do u know if u can use go pro mounts? I will b using it almost exclusively for paintball, so looking forward to it. Great vid review!

mine won't switch on, battery is charged fully and I've tried dif fully charged batteries, it will power on when plugged into the mains or a 12 volt supply though, can't figure it out.

Can somebody help me. I just recently got a Ghost S but when i'm riding the quality is really bad as it becomes grainy and pixelated. It happens in low light and in daylight. It seems like a very low 480p quality but I've made sure to put it on 1080.

How does this compare to the Drift HD 1080p, in terms of size of the camera and functionality, as I'm thinking of upgrading.

For what it's worth, I purchased a Ghost S last week, and I have been trying to get support from Drift Innovation since I discovered it is defective (significant video artifacts visible in many different modes 1080p & 720p (Car DVR, Video Tagging, and Normal Recording)). So far, Drift is completely ignoring my trouble ticket, reminder emails and voice mail (impossible to speak to a human being there). This is a shame as I would have really liked the design and feature set of the Ghost S, if it did work properly. I'll report back here if Drift finally provides the support that any such product warrants.

I did use my Drift HD Ghost under water in the beginning....down to about 1, 5 to 2 meter.
But I did stop doing that and got myselfe a waterproof house, because I discovered my camera become moisterous inside.
I saw it my moister inside the lence. My advice...do not use under water without underwater housing.

How is battery sub par? It's more than double GoPro and an hour more than the last model. Also you said the reason you bought it was 60fps? Don't all the competitors do that?

Wow, slight overreaction to Carlyle's comment on battery life. Maybe you have a bad battery, as it is fairly well known that the Drift has double the GoPro life. Anyway, aside from the paddy, good review, mine arrives this week.
