Thank you for this video! I am a nomadic stealth camper in the south in the winter months. Education is good for me to keep safe.

See how she panicked at 2:50 mark that Gator did not come after her. If it wanted to eat her it would have. All she had to do was paddle away from it instead she jumps into the water loosing her mind flailing like a fish out of water. I have been around Gators and never had any issues with them as long as I keep my distance by moving away out of respect for them and what they can do to me.

Just a heads up, some of this information is outdated - been reading a lot of stuff on internet, wildlife preserves, zoos & videos just because i was curious. Example, the cause of humans getting attacked is actually due to either: misidentification, being provoked, during mating season which males are more aggressive + territorial, it has young so it's very protective, feel threatened [after all people do hunt gators often, in fact the were hunted to near the point of extinction], habitat and/or food loss due to humans expanding more into their habitat therefore removing territory & food for gators, people feeding them which they see you as a source of food which leads to them more likely to attack pets & children due that connection they established in their mind from people feeding wild gators since they are naturally more timid - resulting in them usually fleeing to nearest water source but when people feed/hang around them that fear starts to go away & may even come closer to humans/civilization expecting to get/find food due to an idiot that fed a wild gator or very rarely attack without being provoked. Also, it's said by researchers, FWC, scientists, UINC, Wildlife offices, etc. [in more updated research that is] that it is more likely to get attacked by a shark, dog mountain lion, etc. then a gator due to their more timid behavior & annual fatality rate in the US from alligators is only 0.3% = about 1 person dying every 3yrs BUT attacks have increased some/at times due to habitat loss, hunting, provoking, etc but they usually give warning bites as in don't go for a kill but to chase off by charging or biting then letting go eventually.

The information you provided sounds more like a Crocodile, which are their own separate species. Crocs are known to have bad tempers even when unprovoked & have a much higher attack & kill rate then gators.
