Before traveling abroad, I always download the area on Google maps and the language on Google translate. Both are free and you don't need wifi. I also prepare a list of phrases, such as, "How much?", "Can you write than number?", "Cheaper.", "Can you take me here...", "Where is the bathroom?", etc. Last year I flew 27, 450 miles.

Great video. Helps me significantly as I haven’t traveled internationally with a cellphone before. How do you use two sims? Do you manually switch back and forth or do you use a dual-sim feature? When you make a call or use data how do you make sure you phone is utilizing the right plan?

I also have Mint and used the e sim when traveling. I was not able to get calls. My texts only came when I switched to the mint network over wifi.

Question: When I use WiFi only (phone is in Airplane mode and Cellular is turned off) to call to the U.S. from overseas, does the recipient of my call get charge anything on their end? Does the cellphone carrier charge the person I am calling?

Does this work if the person you're calling doesn't have an internet connection? Does this connect directly to their phone?
