I have spent the last 5 hours trying to find a tutorial which explains and presents the functionality of core Data and your video is by far the best one I have come across. Thank you so much!! Just a quick note for future viewers; as of iOS 10 we don't need to create an NSManagedObeject subclass. All you need to do is go to your xcdatamodelId file, select the entity and in the Data Model Inspector pane, for the Codegen option select "Class Definition". Finally, I would like yo ask you what are some resources to learn iOS development the right way, and actually understand what the code is doing as opposed to blindly copying a tutorial without understanding what's happening.

Great video man. I learned a lot about Core Data from this video. For anyone that's getting errors when they create NSManagedObject Subclasses and wants to manage them like the video illustrates and doesn't want Xcode to manage them, read below. Keep doing your thing Electronic Armory!

"A simple approach that worked for me ....
1. Choose each entity or select all of them
2. Click on the Data Model Inspector at the top right .
3. FIRST set Module to "Current Product Module"
4. Then set Codegen to "Manual/None"
5. Now go to Editor -> Create NSManagedObject subclass.
6. Enjoy

Great video! Do you have more information about how to tell/set which form iOS stores the core data, i.e. MySQL lite or XML? For example, suppose I wanted an easy way to export or view the information an apps database, so I want to be able to extract an XML file. Or I could easily write an XML file to simulate some app data and import it into an app...
