i have searched everywhere, could not find a clear answer
my Qs are

1. can I install deepin 20 directly on to my external hard drive (a brand new, never used) that connect to my laptop via usb, if so, how? i'm a newbie in linux, please give me some detailed instructions, such as after connecting the external hard drive, do i have to format it first, NTFS? do i have to make a partition on the hard driver first, which software, how, and how should i partition it? i thought the partition was done automatically while you running the OS installation.

2. how could i make a dual boot, i mean, if I want to use Deepin, I will connect it to my laptop via usb, then I choose to boot into deepin. otherwise, boot into windows 11.

any help is very much appreciated.

I tried to use this way, but each time when it reaches 65% of installation process it stops and says failed installation. I tried many times.
When I tried installing on the whole disk, it installs it to the end. But the matter is that I didn't like the partitioning when choosing the full disk 😐😐😐

My only regret is that Linux Deepin doesn't support Keyboard Hotkeys. By the way it was not designed for notebooks.
