This is awesome, as i dont hear many people on social media saying this. Most gardeners overlook this simple trick to keep the balance together within the soil. Been doing this exact thing in our family for over 80 years, maybe more.

Thank you I'll keep that in mind I've been working on my garden as well. Getting ready for spring. Have an amazing harvest!

I grow cannabis (legal) indoors. I never remove the root balls after a grow cycle. The roots stay right in the containers and a small seedling is planted right next to the old stalk stub. I swear the new sapling's roots mainline right into the old roots.
Explosive growth is the only way I can describe it, ever since I started employing this method. I grow in 15 gallon pots and there's enough soil mass to reamend, replant and go.

Good tip, also if the roots rot they will feed the soil.

So if it’s not a “spent plant”, and it can still grow even if you cut at the soil line.

And you’re trying to get rid of it. Is it ok to pull it out, or is there a better method.
