Theorists, we are diving into The Backrooms again and this time we are going all the way... to Egypt! Yes, you read that right! I think there may be some ancient secrets hiding in the maze of yellow walls. I'm determined to see if this theory has a solid foundation and if it can stand the test of time like the pyramids. Let's go!

Just imagine you no-clip into the Backrooms and then you see MatPat holding a notebook aggressively writing stuff down as he stares at a wall

I think there needs to be a theories episode where its just mat looking straight into the camera, deadpan delivery, saying the most OUTLANDISH THEORIES (like those theories that are a 'lets throw a dart at a wall and see if it sticks' kind of theories), and explain NONE of them. It would be a short video, but it would be 3 minutes of a continuious stream of rediculiousness.

The thing that no one has actually tried is trying to break through the walls.

MatPat: *Explains egyptian mythology 101*
Me, who read the Kane Chronicles: Interesting

As a native Egyptian who has lived in Egypt my whole life, nothing about the backrooms ever struck me as "This is about Ancient Egypt for sure!" There are some connections but honestly it just seems like a coincidence or some sort of homage for a reason or another. Anyway, I really enjoyed this theory, I love how MatPat looks at theories besides his, very cool to see :)

Imagine putting all this hard work into a theory, hoping MatPat sees it, and then he makes a video on why it's wrong.

Today I learned that tombs can be raided for body parts along with actual gold and jewelry, and I'm a little nervous to imagine the kind of people who would actually buy a mummified body part.

To me the back rooms are kind of like a modern retelling of Theseus and the Minotaur. A winding infinite maze that no one has survived or been able to crack as well as a monster lurking the unending halls. As well as People getting sacrificed to the mysterious corridors annually.

I swear some of these fan theories are so well thought out, I wouldn’t be surprised if Kane Pixels himself borrowed some ideas for use

Imagine matpat actually getting stuck in the backrooms and years later he would be documented as an entity acting like a paranoid human that over analyzes EVERYTHING and will tell you LONG complex theories until you go insane and become just like him.

Edit:thank you all, this is my first popular comment
Ps: I reported ALL the bots

Personally, I don't think the Egyptian link has as much to do with the lore as it has to do with the *inspiration* of the lore.

I absolutely want to hear the Backrooms/Blues Clues theory

I love how matpat doesn't *JUST* focus on *HIS* theories and actually goes into the fandom to check out some more different ideas.

In science class, I was told humans search for patterns. We are *wired to see those patters so well we find them in places where they don't exsist. I've always thought about theorists when thinking about this. And I'm glad MatPat can recognize this.

12:00 I would argue that the false door carvings were supposed to be portals to guide to the afterlife, while in Kane's work it's an actual portal to the Backrooms.

If Matt made a "Backrooms is Secretly a Sequel to Blue's Clues" theory, I think I'd probably believe it tbh

My theory for the Backrooms being “inspired” by Egyptian mythology is that Kane chose those letters, knowing theorists will make the connections of the Backrooms to the tombs, just to throw people off of what is actually happening.

Kane actually responded to one of your theories in an interview he did. Just search up "kane pixels interview Wendigang" and you'll find it. If I remember correctly he says that his backrooms and lore behind it isn't a game simulation. I gotta admit though that your theories on that were pretty believable.

Very interesting, awesome and inspiring analysis of the Egyptian Backrooms theory, I really loved and enjoyed it.
Great job and well done, I got a ton of inspiration for the old west/arctic wilderness, and liminal found footage horror series Mysteriarch Mythos I’m working on writing.
I love getting inspiration from the Backrooms and Backrooms theories, it’s so interesting and inspiring.
