I am Christian, and I respect this part of Islam a lot.

As a muslim, they should be allowed to wear what they want and not what their government forces upon them. Enough said. “There is no compulsion in islam”

That's not your call. This is the thing that you're not getting--the woman in the mini-skirt is not forced to wear it. She chose to wear it. I will take the ability of choice over the ability of being taken care of--even by a well-meaning person--any day of the week. But honestly, I don't need to choose--there are plenty of men out there who don't mind that I decide for myself and will support me in unison.

“I wish I could meet my brothers.” The Companions said, “Are we not your brothers?” The Prophet said, “You are my companions, but my brothers are those who believe in me although they never saw me.”

(Narrated by Imam Ahmad)

It doesn’t really matter if it’s their “choice” to wear a hijab. The issue here is that If they don’t want to, they face terrible consequences. Rejection from family members being a major one. So, sure! Let’s choose to wear one! 😅

Pretty sure an intelligent woman can protect herself guide herself properly and she don't need a man to do that for her.

The way you think you need to make choices for women tells a lot about how much you respect them.

Sometimes simple answers are better brother. "They choose to wear it" if you wish to expand then in a nice way continue with "as Allah simultaneously commands them to and gives us all free will so they make the choice to follow their religion and God." As for the reason it's for modesty and to protect their beauty from non mahrams and potential creeps.

I love when people make my decisions for me, makes me feel safe and protected especially when they threaten extreme violence to help me make my decision.

In the west we believe that a woman has a choice to wear whatever she wants. She can choose to wear a hijab if she wants

What about men who don’t cover themselves? I get tempted so many times too 🤣🤣🤣 Do I need to guide and protect them?

The only reason was that men don't feel the urge and don't harm women. The problem was with the men, not with the women lmao

Protecting women is the thing which legitimize every sexists. It's basically you deciding for other people but with a smile on your face because you're doing that for them. A friend of my friend is fourteen years old and is muslim. Their parents aren't going to let her go to the highschool, they just want her to be at home and marry as soon as she can. Does she want that? No, she's never asked but someone decided for her whole life.
That girl deserves to be protected... by her own parents

Every adult deserves a free will to make decisions about themselves. That lady in London saw the weather and she was enjoying her freedom
